Milena Govich

 

Milena Govich (Serbian born on 29 October 1976) is an American actress, director, singer, dancer, and musician who is best known for her character NYPD Detective Nina Cassady on the television series Law & Order.



 



 Early life and education



 Govich was born in Norman, Cleveland County in Oklahoma. The late Dr. Bruce Michael Govich (who died in 1998) as well as Dr. Marilyn Green Govich [2are both professors of music. Marilyn teaches voice at University of Central Oklahoma, while Bruce was a professor at University of Oklahoma. Her mother is English and Scottish, and her father is Serbian. Milica Govich is her aunt. She has appeared on television, film, and Broadway.



 



 Milena was named valedictorian in Norman High School's class in 1995. She followed her academic family by graduating from the University of Central Oklahoma, being valedictorian again, this time with the double degree of performance as well as medical pre-medical studies. She also received a minor in dance and violin. After graduation, Govich moved to New York City to pursue an acting career.
